Editor's Log: The Waiting Game

October 2013, Vol. 68 No. 10

Time is not an ally of Keystone. And the shameless delaying tactics have damaged relations with Canada. Will that create further long-term issues between the two countries? Possibly; only time will tell.

RehabZone: New Wrinkle
The introduction of the RehabZone almost 13 years ago was one of the most important events for not only the Underground Construction Technology International Conference & Exhibition (UCT), but the entire North American rehabilitation market as well. This generic program, replete with interactive, informative displays, live demonstrations and hands-on activities, provides learning activities like no other available in the industry today. There have been attempts to duplicate by other events but to date, no one has been able to capture the true essence of the RehabZone – an industry-wide effort where competitors and allies alike put aside their biases to provide pure information and education (and a lot of fun!) for the underground rehabilitation market.

More wrinkles are being added this year with the Technology Test Drive section. For the first time, leading technology and solution providers will create unique hands-on opportunities enabling visitors to touch, feel and personally experience the equipment. As the name implies, “test drive” elevates understanding, eliminates fear of the unknown and inspires operators and owners to make educated decisions.
