American Augers

American Augers introduced the new Roller Cone Head for Auger Boring at ConExpo 2014. This useful accessory is outstanding in hard rock formations. Made especially for ground conditions 8,000 psi - 50,000 psi, the roller cone head is available in 3-inch or 4-inch hex with or without pilot. 419.869.7107, americanaugers.com

The Robbins Company

Robbins Small Boring Units (SBU-As) are small diameter ABM attachments that have been utilized on hundreds of projects spanning North America due to their effectiveness in boring hard rock and mixed ground. On a recent sewer project in Virginia, an SBU-A excavated a 210-foot crossing in highly abrasive bluestone up to 28,000 psi, reaching advance rates of 7 feet per day. Visit youtube.com and type in “Robbins SBU-A” to watch an exclusive video of this technology in action. 440.248.3303, TheRobbinsCompany.com

McLaughlin

The McLaughlin McL-54/60 is a turbo charged diesel auger boring machine for 16- to 60-inch casing installations. With nearly 1,000,000 pounds of thrust, this machine is capable of doing your longer bores in tough conditions. Fast Feed allows hydraulic fluid to be diverted to one cylinder allowing for faster dog plate repositioning and machine retraction. Patented Operator Presence Control (OPC) clutch and the low machine profile greatly reduce the risk of rollover, which is critical for high-torque auger machines. The operator control station is located on the right side of the machine for reduced rollover risk and to keep the operator out of spoil piles. Three hydraulic rams with auto thrust control and infinitely adjustable speed provide 950,000 pounds of thrust. 800.435.9340, mightymole.com
