The Heath AQUA-SCOPE water leak detector is an instrument which amplifies the frequencies (sound waves) generated by a water leak. Operators find that the AQUA-SCOPE allows maximum freedom of movement and superior sensitivity of the audio and visual signals, thereby improving on the detection and pinpointing of leaks from the surface. The AQUA-SCOPE allows an operator to choose between the ground and direct contact microphones to detect sonic frequencies. The new Automated Filter Intelligence System (AFIS) for the TriCorr Touch correlator increases its ability to accurately pinpoint leaks. TriCorr Touch uses information gathered from acoustic leak noise sensors placed at intervals along a pipeline to identify and locate leaks in a water distribution system. While most correlators include default filter settings for different pipe materials and sizes, TriCorr Touch’s AFIS automatically runs 55 different filter combinations on the correlation data.
