Mini Excavators: Hitachi ZX60USB-3

February 2009 Vol. 64 No.2

The Hitachi ZX60USB-3 is an ultra-short excavator with a swing boom and backfill blade.

The independent swing boom moves 80 degrees to the left and 60 degrees to the right; the boom offset is 33.5 inches to the right and 28 inches to the left.

A Yanmar 4TNV98 engine is certified to EPA interim Tier-4 emission regulations. The engine includes an Exhaust Gas Recirculation system to reduce NOX emissions while maintaining high power; an electronic governor that adjusts fuel-injection volume and engine speed.

The cab is TOPS/ROPS/OPG designed and comes standard with air conditioning and a one-piece airtight floor. Fingertip control, short-stroke levers reduce operator fatigue. The seat features a tall, shaped seat back, ensuring a more comfortable working environment. Tinted front and top windows, a one-piece door window, and extra glass on the lower bottom right-hand side provide excellent visibility.

The ZX60USB-3 is available with either rubber or steel tracks. A 6-foot 1-inch long arm with an additional 573-pound counterweight is also an option. www.hitachiconstruction.com
