Several of the exhibitors at UCT this year were new to the show and, in some cases, the industry itself. But new acts in rehabilitation were easy to come by on Day 2.

As the second day of UCT 2010 progressed, the mood brightened from wary to relaxed.

The opening of UCT 2010’s exhibit hall ushered an impatient crowd over the logo carpeting and into a full-up venue, 125,000 square feet of space studded with heavy equipment and new technology. “Everybody’s always in a good mood at this show,” one longtime exhibitor noted.

A beautiful day in Tampa and UCT has kicked off to a promising start.

By Day 2 of the conference, attendance at the Tampa show had reached approximately 90% of the turnout for the entire 2009 show in UCT’s home state of Texas.

New to UCT iin 2010, the Damage Prevention & Safety Conference (DPSC) is a two-day program focusing on preventing damage to underground utility infrastructure and reducing safety risks related to accidental strikes of buried pipe and cable.

UCT offers a unique educational program specifically for those in the water works industry. The 4th Annual WaterWorks Conference offers a variety of new ideas and strategies throughout the one-day conference, which will be held on Jan. 19.

That NASSCO (National Association of Sewer Service Companies) has become an influential force in the sewer rehabilitation industry was clearly evident in 2008, said current association President Marc A. Anctil as he reviewed NASSCO accomplishments in the past 12 months.

The popular RehabZone will again be a focal point at the annual UCT show (Underground Construction Technology International Conference & Exhibition) for information about pipeline rehabilitation.
