Downhole Directional Drilling Tools: Vermeer T-Rex, Diamond Cutter

The T-Rex and the Diamond Cutter reamers are designed to help HDD operators efficiently pull product through tough ground conditions.

The T-Rex is a fluted tri-wing reamer with oversized carbide teeth. The one-inch thick staggered and stacked alloy steel plates create a jagged edge for efficient cutting in soft rock, hard packed ground and heavy cobble soils.

A fluted design allows cuttings to flow past the reamer and an optional swivel helps keep the product stationary and prevent twisting of the product during the pullback process. The rear taper design results in a more effective push back in pre-ream situations.

Robotically applied carbide hard-faced edge enhances the overall life of the tool. The T-Rex reamer ranges from 8 to 30 inches in diameter. The Diamond Wing Cutter requires low torque for cutting in tough soil conditions. It is manufactured with oversized carbide teeth to maximize cutting potential in hard packed ground conditions and minimize tool wear. 641.628.3141, www.vermeer.com
