Astec/Trencor Appoints New Positions

Astec Underground and Trencor welcome two industry veterans to their management team, Charles Cunningham and Robin Zahn.

Cunningham is the new vice president of sales and marketing for Astec Underground. Cunningham previously served as the central territory manager for American Augers.

Cunningham joined Astec Underground as a territory manager in 2005, before transitioning to American Augers in 2009 when the companies reorganized their sales teams. In addition to his work with the Astec Industries family of companies, he has more than 20 years of expertise in sales, management and training positions with Mercedes-Benz of Knoxville, Dale Carnegie Training and Tennessee Farmers Cooperative.

Cunningham holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the University of Tennessee.

Robin Zahn

Zahn has joined Trencor as the new international territory manager for Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. He replaces Al Bender, who recently retired after a 25-year career in the trenching business.

Zahn is no stranger to Trencor customers and staff. He served as Trencor vice president of international sales from 1992 to 1998. Most recently, he was vice president of international operations for Trench-Tech International. During his more than 30-year career, he has also served as agent and consultant for a variety of industrial projects in developing countries, working with infrastructure and potable water projects.

Zahn holds a bachelor’s degree in international business from San Jose State University, in California, and also attended Nijenrode, School of Business in Breukelen, The Netherlands.
