In Memoriam: John H. Williams

John H. Williams, 94, of Tulsa, OK, died on May 1. Williams was the president of the Pipe Line Contractors Association (PLCA) in 1959, and elected Honorary Member in 1998.

Williams was a 1940 graduate of Yale University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He served as president and CEO of The Williams Companies (formerly known as Williams Brothers Company) from 1949 to 1971, and chairman and CEO from 1971 to 1979, when he retired. He served on the William’s board of directors until 1993.

In World War II, Williams served as a Navy Seabee (Construction Battalion) officer and participated in the invasion of Iwo Jima.
His survivors include his wife, Joanne; three sons, John, Burch and Miller; a sister and five grandsons.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tulsa Performing Arts Center Trust or charity of your choice.

On June 5, Clyde Fowler passed away. He worked as chief financial officer and senior vice president at Associated Pipe Line Contractors where he served since 1986.
