In Memoriam 

Mark Roberts, well-known and respected leader in the pipeline industry, died Feb. 2, at age 75.

He was a member of several pipeline organizations in the U.S. and in 1996 became a founder of the Louisiana Pipeliners Association, alongside close friends Nicky Smith, Gary Giordano.  

Under his leadership, the Association raised and awarded over $2 million in scholarships to hundreds of students since its founding. He has remained active for more than 25 years, with near-perfect attendance.  

In addition to his work with the Association, Mark also worked alongside the Woodson Family, assisting them in becoming a leader in shallow water pipelines along the Gulf Coast. 


OBIC 

Michael Hoffmaster was promoted from director to vice president of Business Development at OBIC LLC. With nearly four decades in the construction industry, his connections and knowledge in the trenchless industry have been invaluable to OBIC in expanding its market and network of certified installers.  

Trey Hesselschwardt was promoted to director of Corporate Training. A part of OBIC since it started,” he worked his way up from installing the product and has a good understanding of the business,” said Dustin Schlachter, CEO and chief visionary officer. 

Previously, Hesselschwardt shared his responsibilities between OBIC and Advanced Rehabilitation Technology, overseeing safety and certified installer training for many years. 

Also, Tom Jensen joined Advanced Rehabilitation Technology (ART), a certified installer of OBIC products, as business development manager for the state of Texas. His sales and business background will be leveraged in this new role, expanding operations into Texas.

Woolpert 

Jeremy Cress, P.E.  joined Woolpert as program director to support electrical clients, programs, and projects throughout the U.S. 

Cress brings 24 years of engineering and construction management experience. Prior to joining Woolpert, Cress worked for 15 years with electric utility provider American Electric Power where he helped oversee the design of transmission lines, creation of construction packages, and safety management of transmission line engineers.
