New Trenching Tool Retainers Enable Easy Installation And Removal
Kennametal Inc. has introduced new retainers for its line of TSC step-shank tools used on large-track trenchers.
The new TR3 retainers have a patented design that enables them to be installed and removed much more easily and quickly than helix-type retainers. The flush style of the TR3 also employs three tabs to ensure a more secure fit into the block and also contribute to the expedient installation and removal. Further, the ultra-smooth finish on the TR3 retainers permits free tool rotation in the trencher groove.
A magnetic puller is available to assist with installation and removal of TR3 retainers. The TSC step shank tools, for which the TR3 retainers are designed, are available in 2.5-, 3- and 3.5-inch gages.
