Track Trenchers & Rock Saws: Trencor/Astec T1760
The new Trencor T1760 mechanical drive chain trencher offers plenty of power and performance in the toughest digging conditions.
It also can be fitted with a Road Miner attachment for wider cuts in a single pass. Its Caterpillar Acert Turbocharged Diesel Tier 2 Stage IIIA engine provides 950 hp and 3,122 foot-pounds of torque at 1,400 rpm. Power is transmitted to the digging chain through a proven 4-speed transmission, which allows maximum torque in each digging speed. It can trench as deep as 12-feet and as wide as 72 inches. Four newly designed, 10-inch bore boom lift cylinders improve performance and reduce maintenance points.
The T1760’s hydraulic system only operates tracks, conveyor, conveyor shift and boom lift to keep pumps and motors cooler, making them last longer and operate more efficiently. High-volume hydraulic system fluid capacity is greater than those on competitive hydrostatic machines.
