UCT 2018: Standout Exhibitors Win ShowStopper Awards
How does an exhibitor stand out when it’s surrounded by scores of the best products and services an industry has to offer? Whether it’s a visually striking design, an irresistible gadget or an intriguing solution to a common problem, some exhibits have the ability to stop people in their tracks.
Each year at the UCT International Conference & Exhibition, an anonymous panel of industry veterans goes out in search of these standout exhibits and selects the best of them to receive a UCT Showstopper Award. The 2018 ShowStopper Award winners include:
SippTech
The Jacksonville, Fla.-based developer of spray-in-place pipe (SIPP) lining systems, and first-time UCT exhibitor, received a ShowStopper Award in recognition of its modern booth design, with informative 3D-animated graphics, and its innovative trenchless solutions. This included SippSteel, described as the first reinforced composite SIPP liner system and first SIPP system globally that is certifiable as a structurally independent lining.
Vermeer Corporation
The manufacturer of iconic yellow iron seen on industrial job sites worldwide received a ShowStopper Award for providing a real-world horizontal directional drilling (HDD) experience in its exhibit space via its Vermeer Navigator HDD Simulator. Very popular with attendees, the simulator provides realistic, hands-on training of basic drill functions, and features an authentic operator’s station and controls that are the same across its entire Navigator HDD lineup.
PlanGrid
The developer of mobile construction software received a ShowStopper Award for its industry-leading PlanGrid application. The software reduces repeated trips to the trailer, minimizes rework and provides instant collaboration with real-time access to blueprints, punch lists, daily reports and more from iPhones, iPads, Android devices or Windows PCs. PlanGrid representatives provided expert product advice and hands-on demos on all platforms in its exhibit.
BOS Solutions
Another first-year exhibitor, BOS Solutions impressed the Showstopper Awards panel with both its informative booth, and its products and services for municipal projects and trenchless technology. A leader in environmental services and waste-management solutions, BOS Solutions introduced attendees to a range of systems and services.
Warren Environmental
This long-time exhibitor has steadily grown and prospered with UCT to become a leading supplier of 100-percent solids, zero-VOC, epoxy coatings for structural rehabilitation of sewer, potable water and chemical infrastructure. Its ShowStopper Award recognized the company’s investment in onsite expertise, and its array of samples demonstrating a broad range of structural and flexible epoxy applications.
